27 Mar Salt EB PSSPF Joint Communique
In pursuance of the objective of adhering to the directive of the government of South Africa of managing the control on the spreading of the Corona Virus, the Private Security Sector Provident Fund together with its administrator SALT Employee Benefits, have issued the following statement that is designed to inform all stakeholders of the steps that have been taken to mitigate and limit the potential impact of COVID 19.
“The PSSPF and SALT are taking the situation extremely seriously and putting in place measures to contain the spread of the Corona Virus. The focus is on doing what we can to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both SALT’s employees and PSSPF members and their employers together with all our direct stakeholders, insofar as this is possible, while still delivering, servicing of all of our clients’ needs and continuing to do business as usual, to the highest standards possible in the circumstances.
Government and in particular the Department of Health together with their partners, the WHO and NICD, continue to provide valuable insight and updates regarding the virus and how it is spreading in the country. Their dedicated websites are a great source of information, having taught us that the main symptoms are fever, a dry cough and fatigue, often followed by muscle aches, nasal congestions and sore throats – very similar to flu symptoms. Their data shows us that the majority of people around the world who have contracted the virus suffer mild conditions.
As of 27 March 2020, SALT and Fund offices will be closed to visitors and members wanting to make enquiries on benefits and claims.
We ask you to help us by using online facilities to connect with us for any fund-related queries or assistance via Facebook – Private Security Sector Provident Fund, Twitter – @PSSPFund and WhatsApp – 083 053 0245. . Furthermore, all claim forms can be forwarded to email@example.com and queries can be forwarded to firstname.lastname@example.org. That said, we are set up to operate remotely and will continue to deliver a high standard of service to our clients regardless of location.
We will advise you of any further developments as the situation evolves. Please take care as you and your organizations navigate through these difficult times.
