COVID Update – Nationwide Lockdown

In pursuit of the objective of adhering to the National directive of the Government of South Africa in curbing the spreading of the Corona Virus, SALT Employee Benefits have already issued the following combined statement that was designed to inform all stakeholders of the steps that have been taken to mitigate and limit the potential impact of COVID 19. 

“The PSSPF and SALT EB Leadership Committee are taking the situation extremely seriously and putting in place measures to contain the spread of the Corona Virus. The focus is on doing what we can to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both SALT’s employees and PSSPF members and their employers together with all our direct stakeholders, insofar as this is possible, while still delivering, servicing of all of our clients’ needs and continuing to do business as usual, to the highest standards possible in the circumstances 

As of 27 March 2020, all SALT Employee Benefits Front Offices will be closed to visitors and members requesting information and or raising enquiries on their benefits and the submission of claims. 

We accordingly request that you assist our efforts by using our online facilities to connect with us for any fund-related queries or assistance, via the following mediums: all claim forms can be forwarded to; and all queries can be forwarded to We confirm that our staff have been deployed to continue operating remotely and, under these unprecedented circumstances, will strive to continue delivering a high standard of service to our clients regardless of location. 

Your allocated Client Liaison Officer, assigned accordingly to office location, will ensure service continuity. He/she may 

be contacted via email or telephone. Please refer to table of contacts listed below:

Business will continue as usual and all your Fund Contribution and Compliance submissions and or queries can still be forwarded to the following mailboxes for attention:

Continuation of Member Services: 

Our plan is to communicate to all Members of the Fund via SMS, giving direction on how to communicate with us during 

the closure period, with regards to claim submissions and basic queries. 

In order to mitigate the impact on service delivery to our Members during the closure period, the following 

services/processes will be available to Members:


  • All claim forms can be submitted via email to
  • This Claims Mailbox will also be attended to daily to ensure that our Members are assisted timeously.


  • All Member queries can be submitted via email to; or
  • via the existing Benefit Counsellor Tool – we will be urging Members (via SMS notification) to register (by remote cell phone connection) on the Benefit Councillor Tool. Members who are registered with the Benefit Counsellor will be able to view their basic fund information details, such as contribution history and fund balances. They will also be able to submit fund related queries via the Benefit Councillor functionality. Please encourage the Members to register on this tool via the following link:
  • The Queries Mailbox will also be attended to daily to ensure that our Members are assisted timeously.

Our COVID-19 committee is actively managing this situation and will ensure that you are kept informed of any new 

developments. Should you have any queries, or should there be any clarification required, please do not hesitate to
